Aurea Wins Hatch Pitch Competition

Aurea has won $10,000 in Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia’s inaugural Hatch competition. The prize money, courtesy of Revolve Branding, is composed of $7,500 in seed funds and $2,500 in branding and marketing services. Aurea’s CEO, Cat Adalay, was one of five finalists to pitch on May 24, 2017 in front of a panel of judges.

Aurea Wins Smart Energy Pitch Competition

Aurea’s CEO, Cat Adalay, pitched at Halifax’s annual Smart Energy Event Pitch Competition and won the $1,000 prize. Adalay was one of three finalists to pitch to an audience and a panel of judges. Representatives from Siemens Canada, Business Development Bank of Canada, and Export Development Canada judged the pitches, and audience members voted on the winner.

Aurea Accepted into Fierce Founders Accelerator

Aurea has gotten into Communitech’s Fierce Founder Accelerator. This six-month program takes eight female-led companies from across Canada and grows their businesses by accomplishing certain milestones relative to each company’s stage. Over the six-month period, Aurea will be creating the first Flare prototype as well as working towards the company’s first pilots.

Aurea Top Finalist in Fierce Founders Pitch Competition

On February 23rd, Aurea’s CEO, Cat Adalay will be pitching with seven other female founders for $100,000 in Communitech’s Fierce Founders Pitch Competition. The competition is the finale to the Fierce Founders Bootcamp – where the top eight companies of the cohort get to pitch for the grand prize.

Aurea Accepted into Fierce Founders Bootcamp

Over the course of January and February, Aurea will be participating in Communitech’s Fierce Founder Bootcamp – the largest female entrepreneurship bootcamp in the world. Each cohort accepts 25 female-led companies into the six-day program and works with them on every aspect of their business. At the end of the bootcamp the top eight companies in the cohort will get the chance to pitch for $100,000 in the Fierce Founders Pitch Competition.

Aurea Wins Planting Seed$ Pitch Competition

Aurea has won $10,000 in this year’s annual Planting Seed$ Pitch Competition. Aurea’s CEO, Cat Adalay was one of three finalists to pitch in front of an audience on Novemeber 28th. The audience, that consisted of community entrepreneurs, investors, and Halifax Mayor, Michael Savage, listened to all three pitches and then voted on the winner.
